OK, I think, almost positive, pretty sure…we got a house

We saw a great house the other day. Sort of out in the country (8 km from the city and 5.6 km from where we live now). The views are of rolling hills and trees. It has three bedrooms, three baths, very large garden, large living/dining room ( was a beautiful yellow, but is now white again, darn!), and a balcony. The walkout ‘basement’ was used as an apartment so it has room for a tiny kitchen (which we will put our extra freezer/fridge down there) and a large playroom with a terrace and access to the garden. The laundry and storage room as well. The weird feature is this spiral staircase to a room below the playroom. I guess it might have been the bedroom, but with only one window kinda claustrophobic. I think hubby wants to turn it into a train room with Boo for their HO trains. That’d be pretty cool. Or an exercise room. Who knows?

We do have to put in a kitchen though. We went to Ikea and then downloaded the kitchen planner and ‘built’ our virtual kitchen. It’ll be nice. Plus a new fridge/freezer! A ‘big’ one for here anyway. Bigger than what we currently use. That will be so nice. Now maybe I can shop once a week instead of three times a week because I have no room for food. Hubby is going to recruit a friend to help him install the kitchen (that saves a 1000ā‚¬ right there) over the course of a week or so. I think I’ll be happy to not be there for the inevitable cursing in english and german. Though could also be in italian seeing as our friend is also fluent in italian, his wife’s native language. Anyway, it’s going to look great! And we can take it with us which will be cool to use in a basement or garage for the future. We already know there is NO illegal clause in the contract (we checked on that one) and they are writing it up as I type. Hopefully we sign this week and then we can relax. And plan and buy a kitchen. And start sorting through our stuff so the movers can pack us up and move us. And change all our address and phone number stuff. Ok so maybe we wont relax too much. But I’ve got lots of decorating ideas to make this place a real home instead of a temporary place to live šŸ™‚

Forgive me, again I have no idea why the first part is bold. I didn’t make it bold. I am still trying to figure out using blogger and the mac with adding pictures since I can’t drag the pics down like I could with my old pc.

  1. Congrats on the find. It’ll be much better for you guys. Way too big for me, but we have completely different requirements because of our different lifestyles.
