And in case you didn’t know it’s Mickey Mouse’s 80th birthday today! Wahoo! That guy still revs my engine. If I wasn’t married already Mickey, you’d be in big trouble 😉 Speaking of Mickey only 92 days until we’re coming your way Mr Mouse so be prepared.
Here is the update on my Golden Heart submission –Final delivery: The parcel was successfully delivered
Thank goodness! I was beginning to wonder what the Six Day Delivery I paid for actually meant. Once it gets logged into RWA’s system I’ll rest a bit easier. So now it’s all up to the little people called judges. I’m anxiously awaiting March for feedback.
It’s time for Reading With Blogging Mama! I’ve got a good one and I’m currently wrapped up in it since it came yesterday. It’s been perfect for me not feeling well, I’m lounging anyway and am already a hundred pages in and hooked. Many of you may have already read this in college but I have never read it. The selection for this edition is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Seriously I can’t put it down. Here is the description from the back of the book:
Anna Karenina seems to have everything – beauty, wealth, popularity and an adored son. But she feels that her life is empty until the moment she encounters the impetuous officer Count Vronsky. Their subsequent affair scandalizes society and family alike, and soon brings jealousy and bitterness in its wake. Contrasting with this tale of love and self-destruction is the vividly observed story of Levin, a man striving to find contentment and a meaning to his life – and also a self-portrait of Tolstoy himself.
I also bought War and Peace and have determined that I’m going to read and finish it by Christmas 2009. That should be enough time right? After all it’s 1215 pages. (according to my hardback edition)
So join me in Anna Karenina and let me know if you like it!
