Two on Tuesday with Blogging Mama

It’s time for another addition of Two on Tuesday!  This week’s theme is music so I hope everyone will participate.  If you’re not familiar with ToT here’s what we do.  On Tuesday I post two questions, two thoughts, two of something.  I encourage you to add your own ‘two’ in the comments or on your own site.  If you add it to your site please link back to me, feel free to snag the nifty button below and leave a comment so I can stop by and check it out!

Two on Tuesday

All you need to do is copy the code in the box above and add it to your own post.  If you have questions or need help go to the ‘contact me’ button and let me know.  Mr Linky is making his first appearance here as well so you can link up. Actually he isn’t here.  He’s screwing up my webpage for some reason so I had to take him out.  If you play along on your own page I will manually link you in the post so please just leave a comment telling me you’ve posted to your own blog.  Many thanks and hopefully Mr Linky will work out in  the future.  Though this is the second time I’ve tried this and the second time he’s screwed up the page.

On with today’s Two –
#1 What song (or lyrics from a song) best describes your life?  It can be something that fits your mood right now or just a song you like as well.  Make sure to tell me why it fits you!

#2 What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?  What made it memorable?  If you’ve never been to a concert tell me what group you’d like to see.

My answers:
#1 I had to think about this one for awhile because there are lots of songs!  I finally chose Many the Miles by Sara Barielles.

‘There’s too many things that I haven’t done yet
Too many sunsets
I haven’t seen
You can’t waste the day wishing it’d slow down
You would have thought by now

I’d have learned something’

I really like this song because I think it fits where I am right now.  There are so many things I have yet to do and see in the world and not nearly enough time to do them in.  I’ve started making a goal list (sort of like the top things to do before you turn thirty except I’m already past thirty…).  I look forward to checking them off!

#2 Best concert.  This was nearly as hard as the first one.  I had a few to choose from.  Dave Matthews (three times) was certainly high on the list as was seeing Collective Soul before they were anybody in one of those small Philly clubs.  But I have to say hands down for memorable – Jimmy Buffett at the E-Center in Camden, NJ.  Seven years ago maybe?  We went with friends who lived in Camden and we had the great lawn seats.  If you’ve ever been to the E-Center, this can be good and bad.  It turned out to be bad on a summer’s night. It started with a whole lotta dark clouds rolling in and then thunder.  And lightening and way more rain than it takes to drown a rat.  So, soaked to the bone, shivering in the wind on the lawn, we heard Jimmy Buffett sing his legendary songs.  And even though I was really not having fun at the time I look back and see that it was the best concert I’ve ever been to.  Hands down the most memorable!  How many people can say they’ve seen Jimmy Buffett in the rain??

So tell me, how would you have answered Two on Tuesday this week?

  1. I am so horrible at rememembering song titles, lyrics, or even which group sang what. It’s a wonder I used to match my posts to songs. I need to contemplate putting that back :-)As for the concert. Ugh. That one is hard, too. I’ve seen lots of really good concerts. And you are right…Jimmy Buffett puts on a great show. And I have seen him in the pouring rain, too. On the lawn. That quickly turned to mud. There is a concert that I would have loved to have seen. Elton John and Billy Joel were here two nights ago. And sang for four hours. That is one where I wish I was there…

  2. A song that speaks to me is “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John. This was a real strength song when I was going through my divorce. Especially the line “And if our love was like a circus, you’d be a clown by now.” Power.I’ve been to tons of concerts. 12 or 13 times to see Elton John, 7 times for the Stones, Aerosmith, David Bowie, Muse, Live, David Byrne, REM, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney…just to name a few. Can’t pick just one.

  3. I don’t think I have a special song but I will never forget the Aerosmith concert that we went to about 5 years ago. It was absolutely sensational! They sure can put on a great show. I love that band.

  4. Happy Anniversary!I’d have a very hard time choosing a song right now… which is weird because usually I am a theme song kind of girl!Best concert? Tom Petty at Irving Plaza in NYC in 1999. The stage was level with the crowd, and I was in the front row, standing about five feet away from him! He sang several songs looking me right in the eye. Sigh. A great show! Not to mention absolute heaven.

  5. Couldn’t possibly narrow it down to one song to fit my multiple personalities! 😉 But my best concert was U2, everytime I’ve seen them. Oh, and once I sat in the 5th row for Sting… that was pretty freakin’ awesome! Hey, I LOVE your blog look! It’s way cool! Thanks for the input on my blog fever. I actually was able to get a new template just the way you suggested! Many, many thanks! You rock!

  6. 8 YEARS—–whhoooheee, happy anniversary. Hmm Best song that describes me?? I sure liked your song choice. I can’t think if anything right now but I am sure there must be A MILLION. Best concert —Ha ha ha, don’t go to concerts hardly ever, but Saw Neil Sedaka once and that was fun, Kenny Rogers BEFORE he was just Kenny Rogers and was The First Edition—–and just recently Donny and Marie in Vegas!!! Hubby was dying, but I loved it!!
