Random Tuesday Thoughts (and a whole lotta pictures!)

This is going to be Random Tuesday Thoughts ala Keely at The Un-Mom and random vacation pictures.  Who would have thought we would take something in the neighborhood of 400 pictures in a simple, barely 24 hour trip to Luxembourg??
I knew I should never have told hubby he could have my Nikon D40 he gave me (cause I am all about my little Canon Ixus these days).  The man is a picture-a-holic.  When I actually got a chance to use my camera (forget what I said, it’s my camera, it was a mom’s day gift) I’ve found I’m obsessed with taking pictures of doors.  I don’t know why, I just like doors.  Most of the ones here are so beautiful with the wood or carvings or iron.  Not my own front door which looks like a bad circa 1960’s nightmare.  (Thankfully, this place is a rental!)
I present you with part of the pictures from Luxembourg Easter 2009: Flickr has issues so I can’t get it to upload any more photos at the moment. (These are just from the big camera, I’ll save my the ones from my camera for later)

And moving on to Random Tuesday Thoughts:
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.  Do you think the Easter bunny knows that one?
I found a Garfield cartoon in a free newspaper yesterday.  It was all in French, who knew Garfield and John spoke French?
Gnocchi + Morel Mushrooms x Cream Sauce = Sinful + Worth Every Bite
I literally watched the sun go down.  And it was really cool.
I recently started calling my daughter Hyper Diaper.  It fits.
Yesterday there were two nosebleeds and one case of ralphing chunks (that’s barfing for those not in the know) in the car.  They all happened to my poor little 7 year old.
I love all things French.  Eating the food and speaking the language was two days of heaven.
“I’d Trade My Husband For A Housekeeper” it’s actually a book, but who hasn’t said that before?  Guys feel free to insert Wife for Husband if you like.
Butterfly World has to be the coolest place on the planet.  I love butterflies.  If you’ve never been to a butterfly place (I don’t know what else you call them actually) you should.  It’s awesome.

Why are there so many reality shows on tv these days?  What happened to comedies like the Cosby Show and Cheers and According to Jim?  I used to love those shows.
I’m debating not follow that Blogger Who Bugs Me I talked about last week.   (Don’t worry it’s not one of you who actually read here 🙂  But I’d feel bad if I stopped following and I can not figure out why I would feel bad…
I just watched a show, one of many I’ve seen, about the Airbus A380 that holds 873 passengers. I’m sorry there’s no way I want to get on one of those monsters!
Shaggy Blogs.  I saw this ad on SITS and I think I love them.  The designs are so cute and FREE. My blog is good but you should check them out.
I don’t want to go to the store.  There might be cleaning of the fridge and after last week’s rice and brown sugar dumping, I don’t know if I can handle that.  But I am completely out of coffee. It could be a good time to start stopping the drinking of coffee.  But my kids might suffer that way.
Why does everyone care about what dog Obama bought?  Really.  I don’t care.  Do you?
There’s definitely more random up in my brain but I’m hungry so food trumps random.
If you want to play visit Keely at The Un-Mom today!
Stop by tomorrow it’s Sign Language Wednesday!

  1. LOL, great thoughts! The diversity of them kept me on my toes as I read down your post, but it was the comment on Obama’s dog that made me laugh 🙂 I truly am baffled why the media focuses so much on certain stories for so long; like Lindsay Lohan right now. It makes me feel sick sometimes that they cover certain things for so long. Well, at least the puppy story is about a cute furry animal. Unimportant topics in the media (to me) at least make me think about what is important to readers!Awesome door photo idea! I think I’ve seen a book on doors once. It’s very intriguing.

  2. I really love the bridge and butterfly shots. Spectacular! No, I don’t care what dog is living in the White House. Not even a little bit.I am with you on loving all things french. When I was studying french, I don’t think I appreciated everything as much as I do now. Also, I had to laugh about your comment at being first every week on the Mr. Linky. 🙂

  3. Love the pictures from Luxembourg – the doors are very intriguing! The butterfly picture your hubby took is beautiful! Ewwwww…nose bleeds and blowing chunks…in the car…you’re poor 7 year old! Hope they’re feeling better! If your kids will suffer due to non-coffee consumption, I say a trip to the store to re-stock would be a necessity…I know it would be in our household! ;)I’m with you – who cares what dog the Obama’s got?!

  8. Recently my daughter threw up curdles mill while our family was at the drive through at Subway, then our son threw up because, well, chain reaction, I guess. I was so proud of myself because I was able to order, clean it up and get my debit card to the cashier in under three minutes. Proudest day in my life.

  12. i don’t know why people care about stuff like obama’s dog, brittney’s lack of under garments and madonna screwing around with a-rod. collectively, we all must need to get a life if this is what makes the news
