MamaKat’s Writers Workshop and then some

It’s Writers Workshop day with MamaKat!  It’s on every Thursday so be sure to join in.
Head over to her place if you just want to read what everyone else is writing!

The Prompts:

1.) Book review!

2.) When is it okay not to listen to the words? Explain about a song you really love that has lame lyrcis or lyrics you simply don’t understand.

3.) Why won’t you forget? List six true sentences that begin with the words ‘I’ll never forget…’ Then use all six of your sentences in a paragraph, poem, or longer descriptive piece.

4.) Write about an interaction you had with a salesman.

5.) What’s for dinner? I’m starving.

Okay I pick number five cause I’m not feeling inspired by the prompts today (I’ve got my own little thing I want to say).

Tonight’s dinner is…Chicken Fajitas!  I swear Hubby and I eat this once a week.  I simply can not get enough.  The funny thing is we hardly EVER made fajitas when we lived in the US. Very weird indeed.  The kids won’t touch them so they get chicken nuggets, veggies, fruit and milk.  Well, Chick probably would eat them if we were willing to share.
If you are hungry I highly recommend making fajitas or heading out to Chili’s.
This is for all of you:
I Wouldn’t Know Nuttin’ if it Weren’t For You
I wouldn’t know about the Zombie Apocalypse if it weren’t for Keely at The Un-Mom.
I wouldn’t know about He Blogs/She Blogs if it weren’t for a blogger who writes for Hot Dads who led me to Petra  The Wise (Young) Mommy
I wouldn’t know anything about Sumo wrestler wallpaper (and wanting to buy some) if it weren’t for Captain Dumbass at Us and Them
I wouldn’t have such awesome music flashbacks if it weren’t for Musical Monday’s and Robin at Cinnamon & Honey
I wouldn’t have musical flash forwards if it weren’t for Shelle at BlokThoughts who turned me onto Lady Gaga
I wouldn’t know about Kane spiders or be so in love with Jack Johnson if it weren’t for Crash at Crash Test Dummy Diaries
I wouldn’t know it was earth day yesterday and look smart to my son if it weren’t for Kimberly at Zook Book Nook
Nor would I know all about pie if it weren’t for The Blonde Duck
I don’t know much about being a single parent but Debbie at The Single Mom in a Complicated World makes it look so easy
I wouldn’t be getting my healthy on if it weren’t for Casey at Half As Good As You and Club HASAY
I also wouldn’t know anything about the Bonehead Brothers if it weren’t for Mrs. Cox at My Own  Brand of Crazy
So you see?  I really wouldn’t know nuttin’ if it weren’t for You!

  1. Hello all the way to you in Germany! I was there for a summer when I was 16 and want to go back someday..Thank you for posting your shout-outs to fellow friends/bloggers. You’ve given me a list of people to check out tomorrow when I’m more awake.

  2. That is the sweetest thing you did writing about others. I wouldn’t know about Venus and Mars if it weren’t for you Andrea! Thank you 🙂 Hope you enjoy the fajitas tonight!

  3. Awwww…………you know Andrea, not knowing the Bonehead Brothers might not be such a bad thing! ;)Thanks for the shout out! I love your choice of music for the day.Unfortunately, I cannot play with Momma Kat because I want to do the musical lyrics prompt. The song I would talk about is Right Round by Flo Rida (that is NOT pronounced like the state by the way)But the song is about strippers and “I’m losin my money. I’m outta control. Somebody help me. I’ve lost my bankroll.” Well, it’s just not appropriae for ANYONE to listen to…much less an old housewife! 😉

  4. Germany hmm? That’s my background but I’ve never been over there. One of these years though…fo’sho! Great idea with the shout-outs..I might have to steal that sometime. ;o)

  5. Fajitas. On my parents’ (from PA) first visit to Texas we took them out for fajitas and they had no idea what to do. It was adorable. They heaped everything like a salad on top of the fajita and ate them with a fork. We showed them what to do and now they have fajitas once a week back home.

  6. I absolutely love the song Big Log by Robert Plant. Not really sure what it means, something about being on an open road, but he keeps saying My Love. Get this, my husband and I used this for our first dance at our wedding. Just because it sounds so sexy, even though we really have no clue what it is about. 🙂

  7. Oh, wow. Aren’t you the bestest? Thanks so much for the shout-out and the linky love.I wouldn’t know the coolest blogger in Germany if it weren’t for you!Happy Thursday!

  8. I don’t know where I’ve been but I never realized you were all the way in Germany until today. Duh. We do taco night, not fajitas but the secret ingredient here is using a jar of Fritos queso (dipping sauce) in there. Yum. Don’t tell HASAY.
