Monday’s Muse with Cinnamon and Honey

It’s Monday again. I’m out today but I want all of you to head over to see Robin at Cinnamon and Honey and join in on Monday’s Muse. It’s the newest craze!

Today I want to have you all flashback with me to say 1998. On tv at the time there was an advertisement for Volkswagen. I can’t remember if it was for the Jetta or Golf but I do remember liking the song. After researching it I figured out that the song was Da Da Da by Trio and yes I bought the cd (this was way before iTunes existed and you could just buy one song). The lyrics are very simple – there really aren’t any. But the beat gets in your system after awhile and you can help but find yourself moving with it.

Da Da Da by Trio

aha
aha
aha

What you will and what you won’t
What you do and what you don’t
What you can and what you can’t
This is what you need to know:
Loved you though it didn’t show

Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me

(whispered)
Ich liebe dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht, aha
Ich liebe dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht, aha
Ich liebe dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht, aha
Ich liebe dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht.

I know why you ran away, aha
Understand you couldn’t stay, aha
Wonder where you are today, aha
After all was said and done
It was right for you to run!

Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me
Da da da I don’t love you you don’t love me

da da da (repeat to fade)

You may argue that one but I find it infectious. What sparked this memory?

I found the cd in a box over the weekend and had to pull it out and listen. The really funny thing is that it’s a German group. For those who may be new here I just moved to the US after spending 3 1/2 years living in Germany. I found that kind of ironic.

I have trouble adding music into the actual posts so you can find the song at the top of my blog under Thought of the Day. I hope you enjoy.

In my quest for new music I also discovered Bon Iver thanks to imeem’s $5 deal email. I purchased their For Emma, Forever Ago album. Just another look at a group I’m particularily enjoying these days. Take a peek at the link and tell me what you think.

What’s inspiring you these days? Any music that’s caught your ear? Please share it in the comments!

If you want to see who else is feeling inspired today be sure to head over to Cinnamon and Honey and tell Robin I sent you!

  2. I totally remember that song! I didn't love much back then.I'm taking a leap from my usual hip hop repetoire and listening to something new.Search “Walking on a Dream” by Empire of the Sun. Love it!!!!! Can't post music on my blog because for some reason it makes people's browsers crash. Hmmm.
