Bring on the weekend!

Updated Version (already)

Seems the weekend going to go more like this since this is what I woke up to find today:
rain 002

rain 004

rain 003

So until the gutter guy (as the landlady is just sure that’s the problem – except there’s no gutter above this window twit) and the roof guy come, I’ll be living with this (which is every towel and blanket I posses at the moment):

rain 001

I think iPod shuffled me a raw deal. There was no RAIN inside the house on the forecast!

Sigh.

The week is finally at an end and Friday blessed Friday has arrived. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to have two solid days of not dealing with the morning rush of packing lunches and running for the bus. I want to lounge around in my pj’s.

I just might indulge in this:

cake

And perhaps read a bit of this for the fiftieth time:

crossstitch

After the kids go to bed I think it’s time I get reacquainted with this classic:

gonewiththewind

I’m shuffling the iPod and here’s what it’s throwing up for the weekend:

1. Smile – Vitamin C
2. For Once In My Life – Michael Buble
3. Fallen For You – Colbie Caillat
4. Hang On – Smash Mouth
5. Lump Sum – Bon Iver
6. Prince Nez – Squirrel Nut Zippers
7. Blur – Britney Spears

It’s going to be a good one! What are you up to this weekend? What would your iPod shuffle up for you?

  1. Oh boy can't wait for the weekend either! I have no kids but doing kind of the same things for my husband.. the waking up at 6:30am, lunchbox, the “get-out-of-bed-you'll-be-late-for-work” talks, the dragging him into his clothes.. the kick in the butt to get out of the door.. while screaming “i love you” with the door slamming behind.. oh weekend blessed weekend!!!Happy Friday!

  2. I don't HAVE an iPod (I know, it's a tragic situation), but this weekend is going to involve working at the Kids Consignment Sale where I'm unloading (hopefully) tons of Grasshopper's stuff, taking the little man for a haircut, and cutting the grass. Oh, and the grill.I just read that and realized how incredibly suburban it sounds. Oh well, if you can't beat 'em…

  3. No sleeping in on the weekends for me. The next 8 weeks it's football, every sat. 9AM sharp. Of course most of those games are away so that means getting up even earlier. What time you watching Gone with the Wind? I think I might need to jet on over there and we can eat cake and watch movies.

  5. I don't have an ipod. But I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to see that you have not only heard of…but apparently like The Squirrel Nut Zippers. So very cool :-)I cannot wait for Echo in the Bones to arrive on my doorstep. I had to get my own copy this time – no waiting in the queue at the library this time!

  6. Squirrel Nut Zippers – awesome. Haven't listened to them in a while. On that window? Do you know where the water is coming in exactly? And how old is the home? The reason I ask is that I worked for a homebuilder for 6 years and started in warranty. I've seen just about every kind of leak there is. Another possibility might be that they didn't properly “flash” the widow correctly? (It's a metal flange that runs across the top of the window designed to keep moisture out. It might be called something else up north, but you might want to ask if they can't find the source.)I'll stop sounding so nerdy now.

  7. Definitely make the cake but make it into cupcakes….I'll come on over!IPOD- Wholesome Myley Cyrus – “Party in the USA,” Taylor Swift, Empire of the Sun – “Walking on a Dream,” A little Owl City and then we'll move on to some trashy Lil Wayne.

  8. The roof is the problem. I can't remember how this is the problem but there is a loose shingle on the roof and it's letting the rain get to the wood under the shingle and then it rolls down towards the walls. do not buy this house.

  9. Oh we had that landlady once… it litterally rained a sheet of water – a total wall of water in our sunroom – the kids loved it. We did not. She said “it's nothing”or “it's because of the rain” Welll duh. And when our basement leaked “it's because of the rain.”Grrrr…Yes, bake a cake, read a book, feel better!

  10. Oh that rain inside your house must be frustrating! Hopefully the gutter and/or roof guy will be able to get it repaired quickly… At least it's looking like a decent week coming up, so at least there's that – you'll be able to reclaim your towels and blankets! ;)I had forgotten how 'rushed' school days are…I'm enjoying a relaxing weekend, too! 😉
