I’ve lost that creative feeling

I am supposed to be writing (okay I am writing technically, but I’m supposed to be doing it elsewhere) but I took a snack break. Which led to an email break which led to answering emails which led me to blogs…and it went downhill from there.

Now I am officially out of rhythm through no fault but my own stomach’s need for food. I was sitting here trying to come up with something interesting to write. Or even replay (which I never do).

I’m feeling all out of sorts about blogging. I love it. But there are times where it feels like way too much to keep on top of. My housework slacks off, I don’t get any of my writing done and I feel consumed with trying to visit blogs and say hi and respond to all the people out there.

I don’t want to get burned out on something I (usually) enjoy. I had to turn my writing blog private because it was so neglected the entire one person who read it has even stopped reading. Eventually if I get out of the Bloggy Blues I’ll change it back. Have you ever hit the STOP button on blogging and declared enough is enough? I don’t want to hit that point.

Did you know the most interesting posts (and highest number of comments) have come on my Random Tuesday days? People must like me best when I’m just all over the place. Huh.

That sort of led me to wonder –

How do you blog?

That’s what I want to know. Are you an in advance scheduled poster? A on the fly in the moment poster? Or some combination of the two?

For me I am a combo. Sometimes (especially when it was new) I was all about the scheduled post. I could think it up and set it up and then every day until it posted (or every hour…) I could go back and edit and refine. That worked in my favor at times and other times not.

Do you find the on the fly posts do better (visit and comment wise) than the planned out ones? How far in advance do you write posts?

My curiosity is peaked about how you blog.

Also to clarify the Bus Mom story yesterday – she’s bringing a table (uh tomorrow morning – which is this morning cause this is a scheduled post!) and then wants the parents to lay out the food they brought for the kids to eat. Eh…okay. Cycling Papa wanted to make Rice Crispies Treats. Yep, nothing like pure sugar to get you going.

We settled on orange slices (because I made him). Another parent is bringing cheese, another juice boxes. There will be about ten parents in all (unless they get smart and drive their kids every Thursday from now on). It’ll be interesting to say the least. If I could get it on film without anyone noticing I would.

Tonight they are having a restaurant festival in the town where we live. All the wonderful restaurants on Main Street, Busy Town, USA are offering up samples. There are about three bbq places on the street. In case I haven’t mentioned it lately, I’m very fond of pulled pork and bbq ribs.

Extremely fond of them.

So if you don’t hear from me for awhile it’s because I fell into a coma after eating everything. At least if I die I’ll die happy.

Don’t forget to answer my How You Blog questions. I really do want to know.

What to do Wednesday

Since that title was so fetching on Saturday I thought I’d reuse it today (and I can’t think of much else). It’s the third day of school today and the highlight still the bus ride. We were very early yesterday afternoon and it seems the bus will come at 3:45 instead of the 3:57 they told us. Nice to know these things…
I’ve just been alerted by Cycling Papa that the Bus Mom who yesterday announced that she read in Family Fun Magazine about a morning bus stop breakfast and has now declared that this will be a WEEKLY feature at the bus stop. WTF? She assaulted Cycling Papa (his words as I wasn’t there but I am sure they were accurate) asking what he will be bringing in the morning. He played the Dumb Guy card.
Why oh WHY do we get the Bus Mom? Why can’t we get Normal Mom? Does your bus stop have this insane feature of bringing breakfast for all the kids each week? Or is it just Power Trip Bus Mom of suburban Philadelphia? Really if this is a feature where you live please let me know. I am a Bus Stop newbie but it seems a bit off to me…
Do you ever say yes to something and then the more you think about and the closer it gets you kind of think “What the HECK did I sign up for that for??” I’m kind of having one of those days. I’m in I want to/I don’t want to mode. But hey at least I’m not talking about the PTO – I didn’t even read to end of that sign up I just chucked it into the trash where it belonged (I am so not PTO material. The bus episode above should have clued you into that).
In my stunning wisdom on Monday I scheduled two posts for the same day. I hate it when I do that (wish I could say it was the first time but…) If you were interested in the Ameswalker Hosiery Review please visit the link.
